Residual Stress Summit 2005

Thanks to all the attendees for a great Summit. A list of attendees and a CD of the presentations will be prepared as soon as possible. CD's will be mailed to the address given at registration unless we a re otherwise notified.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2007 Summit. We plan to have the summit at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and get a tour of the revolutionary VULCAN neutron diffraction instrument for measuring residual stress.

The Residual Stress Summit 2005 follows the format of the successful first Residual Stress Summit held in Los Alamos in 2003. The objectives of RS Summit 2005 are:

• To bring together residual stress technology users and developers
   
• To present practical technology, not specialized academic research

The format of the meeting is designed to meet these objectives. A coherent sequence of topics has been chosen focusing on practical needs and applications. Experts in these fields have been invited to speak and to share their knowledge and experience. To keep the focus of the meeting, all talks are by invitation only. There will also be demonstration sessions where residual stress related equipment and materials will be displayed. In addition, RS Summit participants are invited to give voluntary poster presentations. Informal conference proceedings will be prepared. The proceedings will include a list of attendees and demonstrators and their affiliations, as well as the presentations from the speakers and poster
presenters.
